Week 30- Y2- filming and Little Woman rehearsal
15/05/23
I finished filming the last bits for Bailey's film 'Football till I die'. It went really well. We had to do a few takes as these were more shots of us talking rather than playing football. It was all filmed in the boys changing room. I had a few lines but I managed to do them in one shot. There were a lot of other comedic lines which other characters had to say. Those were the ones that we had to do a few takes of. I can't wait to see the final outcome as I feel like it's going to turn out great! I have one more day of shootings for films and then I'm done. I've been enjoying them but I can't wait to fully focus just on Little woman. Now going back to little woman, today we did a new scene. We did scene 8 and 9. I really loved working on these scene's. In scene 8 Amy and Jo have an argument. Amy is talking to Beth and Jo about wanting to go to the ball with Sallie and Meg, but Jo is distracted as she is getting ready to go out with Laurie. Amy really wants to go but Jo doesn't let her. This makes Amy really mad, so at the end of the scene Amy implies that she is going to do something to Jo to upset her. She burns Jo's story. In scene 9, Jo realises who does it and they end up having a physical fight. This allowed us to bring stage combat to the stage! and I loved doing stage combat so It's great fun. It really shows the relationship between Jo and Amy. Out of all the sisters those two argue the most. They obviously love each other which is shown a lot in the show. But they always have that sibling tension. When I was filming they went through scene 11. I'll have to catch up on that but apparently I just sit in one space for most of it. 16/05/23
We did scene 9 again today so that we can ensure that we have it set out properly. We did scene 12. This is where we all find out that Beth has Scarlet fever. It is a pretty simple scene for me as I come in pretty late and I don't move around too much. We went onto act two today as well! I feel like we have been very productive and have gone through a lot of scenes in a short amount of time. Hopefully we get to the end of the whole show by the end of the week, that's our aim.

We carried on to act 2 today. We started scene 2. I don't have any lines it's just a few stage directions that I need to follow. I run on stage and then off right away. Then I come back as Laurie has caught me from tag. and then I walk off again. Very nice and simple. We also then did scenes 4, 5 and 6. Scene 4 is also relatively simple. It's where Aunt March asks Amy to be her companion. It's quite short. Scene 5 is where Amy is in England writing to Jo then Fred vaughn surprises her. I didn't get to go through it as the person playing my Fred is on Holiday, but I watched the other cast do it so that I know how it's set out. I then also learned the lines for that scene. I asked the people next to me to test me. When I'm not in a scene I'm always trying to learn lines. Scene 6 is with Laurie. Once again I didn't have a Laurie as he was filming. But I also learnt my lines for that scene so at least when I do it I don't have to use a script at all. I feel like my cast always has people missing so it's quite irritating as we can never do a full scene with the right cast. I did however learn a lot of lines today so I'm happy with that. I left a little early today to film for Tamara's and Alex's film. It took quite a while to finish filming, even though I don't have many lines. But the main character needed to leave early today so they had to film her pieces first. My scenes went quite well, we did quite a few shots for them as they added a lot of different camera angles. I think that It's also going to be a great movie. I love the idea and concept of it. If I didn't get a main role in little woman I would have auditioned for the main one in their film.

We finished the whole show today! I'm so glad that we got to go all the way through it. So that next week we can focus on the final details of it, as the week after we have half term and then it's show week when we come back! Very scary times. They did a few scenes when I went filming yesterday so I'll have to work on those on my own. Today we did scenes 9-12. I'm not in scene 9 as Amy is still in Europe. Scene 10 is when Laurie surprises Amy, and it's also where she tells him, that she has put off the engagement with Fred. It's where Laurie and Amy kind of officially say that they are for each other sorta. Scene 11 is where Amy apologises to Jo for marrying Laurie, Jo announces that her first novel has been published. Jo begins to read her story to everyone when Bhaer arrives. Spacing was a little odd for this part of the scene as we were all bundled in one area and we were a little stuck when we tried to get to the front of the stage. Scene 12 is where we kind of break the fourth wall and talk to the audience. Bhaer and Jo have their cute little scene where they both confess their love. We're all on stage here, and so that's where it ends! Before we left we took everything into the other dance studio It looked really good! from next week we will have two dance studio's to rehearse in.
