Lets just say that I didn't get out till 6pm. But I'll say why at the end.
The first lesson was improvisation, and I loved it so much! Improvisation can be really scary, but it was a great way to make friends with the other people auditioning, and it was a great warm up. We played a few games that helped us to get concentrated. It was soooo funny. So the teacher made us play a game where two people would go up then she would give out a scenario for us to act out. I was one of the first people that went up. That was my trick for today, to show that I'm eager I always tried to be the first person to try new things. I went up with another girl (There were 5 of us from college auditioning and we all got put in the same group, so I tried to separate myself from them to show them that I can work with new people). My scenario was that it was prom night and we were both waiting for our date, we then soon realised that it was the same boy. I just made it as dramatic as I could, it was great to break the ice.
Next was acting for screen. I loved doing this, butttt I didn't like the outcome. We all got given the same script, it had a receptionist and then the guest. You could play them however we wanted. I got paired up with Emie who is in my class. We first analysed the script and then choose who would play who. I played the receptionist and Emie played the guest. We gave them a back story so that their actions would make sense. I made the receptionist a as a bit of a ditz, whereas when everyone did it they made them lazy or rude, so it was nice that I made it different. I'm not sure why I wasn't happy with how it went but I just felt like I could have given a little more. However overall it was okay.
Movement class was so FUN. It was something new. Something I had never done before. And I love learning new things. The teacher had so much energy and it was reciprocated by everyone by the end. It's hard to describe what we did, it was sort of like dance but also like cool body movement, I don't know how to explain it. I put myself at the front so that the people giving out the scores would definitely see me. I think that this class had gone well.
Now for monologues.... I had gone through this so much to the point where I felt bored of it. I wanted to add more to it, but there was nothing else to add to I felt like my performance was really plain. I did it just how I normally would butttt..... I don't really know maybe it could have gone a little better.
Now for the student Q&A. So my friend already told me that this is when they tell you if you're in or not, or if your'e on the waiting list. I was the LAST!!!! person to get told, which is why I finished at 6pm. I was so bloody scared because I thought that there wouldn't be any spaces left. And well, I thought...... WRONG!!!!
I GOT IN!!!
I am so happy and so grateful that I got a place! Now all I have to do is focus hard on passing my last year at college, and I'll be living in Birmingham!
