Week 19- Y2- Northampton University audition

So this week I was away at my dads who lives in Brackley which is around a 30 minute drive from Northampton university. There were loads of problems with me getting to the audition and this was my only way. I felt extremely guilty not going to college for a week especially since I've just been given a role, but I haven't missed a day yet so at least my teacher knows that I'm being honest. I worked really hard on my monologues this week just constantly going through them. Especially the Shakespeare one! I also did some work going through the connections script analysing important details.

The Shakespeare monologue that did was Hermia's speech from a midsummer nights dream. I honestly had no clue what she was saying she was speaking absolute gibberish to me. My aim was to know what I was saying, so I did just that, by the end of one day I fully analysed it and understood what she was saying, this meant that I could fully portray the right emotions. If you click on the photos you can see how much I took it apart. It took a while but it was worth it! I also took some self tapes of me doing my monologues. They are very rough and I wouldn't send them off as I made mistakes in them. I just wanted to have them for myself just to see how I look and to see what I needed to improve on. Annoyingly you can only upload 30 second videos on here so I had to split them up.

Contemporary monologue:

I did India's speech from Electricity by Miriam Bettye

Classical Monologue
I read for Hermia in A Midsummer nights dream by Shakespeare.

Around two, three days later I got in!! I'm very happy that I have one offer, at least I know I'm definitely going somewhere.
