Week 18- Y2

 30/01/23

Last proper day or auditions for connections. It feels like weve been working for it for so long, and working on developing the characters were auditioning for. I have been working hard with the group that Kelly has put is in so I was quite confident with it! But then she put out some groups that she'd like to see us in, and in different characters. I personally did not like how i did any other characters, but this is because I didn't work with them before and because I haven't done that character before. I try'd out Young Amma, and young Belle. When I did Vee I felt better, but the people in the group had done it a lot more differently to what I'm used to, so I still wasn't a massive fan of how it turned out. Afterwards we showed her the ones we have been rehearsing in and I felt a lot better! Tom was also watching so that he could help Kelly, or give Kelly another perspective of it. I do think I could have done better for all of them though, however I don't think the Vee ones had gone terribly. After lunch the cast of Unbroken went up to 224 and we did a full read through of the script. It was different to what I expected, I think it's because I forgot that it wasn't a full movie but a pilot episode. Overall I still loved it, and I think that it's going to turn out great! I found out more about my character Nancy. Shes a school girl who's friends with Anastasia, who's Ukrainian. She's walking down a hallway with Anastasia, talking about how a boy named Harry saying that he's practically being sexist and that Anastasia should teach him a lesson as she does boxing, the conversation then changes when Nancy gets a photo sent to her of Grace Rhodes. She calls her a slag etc. I'd say Nancy is generally a good kid buttt she wants to fit in by trying to act hard, which is why she says those things about Grace. 

31/01/23

We started off with #YOLO. We went straight from scene 2. We got Callum to be the Doctor and he's happy with doing it for us for the show. We went through it a few times, and it started to look good. Jack doesn't believe it at first so he asks the Doctor if he's joking. It's a very intimate scene because the Doctor has to break the news to him. I think that we need a few more rehearsals for it but we figured out the staging for it which was good. 

01/02/23

today's the day. we found out if we got a role in connections and if we did, what role we got! I was actually soooo nervous. I really wanted to get Vee, I guess with all that time and effort i put into rehearsing and building her character up I kind of got attached to her. When my teachers read out the cast list, I was actually a little surprised, not in a bad way at all! I didn't get Vee..... But I got young Belle instead!!! she was actually my second option, so I'm still very happy, and grateful! It's going to be weird not being Vee though haha. But one of my best friends Adam got the character so I'm so happy for him and incredibly proud, he can really bring out the best version of Vee, so I think Kelly made a great decision! I'm so excited to be rehearsing as Belle and my cast mates. I can't wait to learn more about Belle, the way I did with Vee. I do already know quite a bit about her as I've learnt a lot about them all and also because she is Vee's best friend, but I know that I need to know more. My class mate Grace got the role of older Belle, so we began talking about how we can make the characters still the same person. we talked about having a similar necklace that we could fiddle with, and the same type of notebook that we carry with us. We also said about dying our hair the same colour but I'm not sure about that one haha. After lunch we had a lesson with Tom, he taught us stage combat. I won't lie it was one of my favourite lessons EVER!!! it was so good, and it's also very handy to know It will look great on my acting CV. We learnt how to do a side punch, upper cut, hair pull, knee hit hit to stomach and knee hit to the groin. what was fun was that we were given a random script and we had to adapt all of these into it. We were given a script about cooking, we quickly learnt the lines and here are some videos:

02/02/23

For #YOLO today we completely blocked out scene 3. Scene three is a party scene with us all in, it's quite a lengthy one. There's a lot of movement so it took a while. we also did a few other scenes such as the fight scene between Luke, Jack, Johnno and  Daf. We figured out how we were going to let the audience know that they are entering Daf's house. I need to take more videos or YOLO rehearsals to show how it's coming a long!
