The Christmas Carol - Muppet's
The preparations: We began getting ready for the Globe quite early on in the year. Our Teacher Tom helped us to devise this piece. He's really good at choreographing. Not many of us can sing or dance but luckily it was low level singing, and I wouldn't exactly cast it as singing. After many rehearsals, that you can read about in my daily blogs, it began coming together. It took us a while to learn the songs, but in the end we got there. Scrooge was played by Jamie Heeley. We got our costume together a few days ahead from the costume cupboard, and my teacher Kelly brought in some costumes for us, The rest we brought in ourselves. Christmas Carol, is based in the year 1843, which is the Victorian era. It was a tad hard getting our costume to be from that time, but it went well. The day before we went to the Globe and had a rehearsal. This helped us to see how much space we have and where we need to get off and on the stage.

Show One & Two) We were one of the first people to perform, but It was nice because we set it off well! Everyone did the choreography well, and everyone sang! We were loud enough for everyone to hear too, which is obviously a bonus. We got on and off the stage seamlessly. The first part of our performance is my favourite, the second not so much but a very talented actress in my class called Jess sang in it, and she was outstanding! She can sing so well, it's incredible! When doing this we have to exaggerate our faces as it's the Muppet's, and they are cartoon characters with big facial expressions. When looking at peoples faces I could definitely see how big they were acting. I felt like I also did a good job in that. Not only do we have to express a lot of emotions on our faces, we had to do it with our body too. We made it big. We ensured to have bold gestures. Overall I'm proud of how both shows came out, especially since it's something that not many of us are huge fans of. The last thing that we do is sing 'little merry Christmas' with musical theatre and higher education acting. I believe that the second time doing it went better. But overall it still could be improved. No one really knew when they were coming on stage. If we rehearsed that a little more, I believe that it would have looked even better!
here's a short clip we got from the first part of our show:
