Week Five- Y2

 10/10/2022

We rehearsed the Muppet songs again today. I enjoyed some if it. We did two new songs today called:

♡Feels like Christmas

♡One more sleep till Christmas

I personally liked singing it feels like Christmas, but I didn't like one more sleep till Christmas. It was wayyyy to high pitched. It feels like Christmas was a fun song to sing. We also went through Scrooge again. We added a little bit at the end to finish it off. I personally think that it looks good, we just need to learn the lines of the song. I believe that overall the final product is going to look really good. We just need a little more practise and rehearsals.

11/10/2022

Today we read through the script for the horror Globe tour. Its quite short but i love it. There are many things such as the characters who don't have lines in the script, so overall the whole tour will take around 45mins. We had to pick a character that we want to play in it. After I read it i was interested in a character called Ivy. Ivy was an actress in silent movies. There was another character called Olive, who Ivy interacts with in the show. Another character I was interested in was just called Girl. In the Globe there was a girl who screamed so loud because she was so excited to see the Beatles, that she exploded something in her stomach. We then watched some of the show from Musical theatre called "Icons". It was really good and they are all incredible dancers. I couldn't watch all of it because I'm part of the writing group, and we had a guest speaker in so we had to leave early to go and meet her. She helped us to find a good way to get ideas for a story/ script. She just started asking us questions quickly and we had to answer them quickly. Some questions are:

♡Most dangerous thing in the room?

♡Most thing that would surprise us if it came in the room? ect

She then gave us a random word and we had to free write in 3 mins . The words were:

♡I am

♡Free

♡writing

I'll give an example of what I wrote for free:

Finally, I've done it. I've escaped. I'm free. I can feel the beaming sun, glowing on to my paper white skin. he feeling of the breeze brushing my hair back. Emerald green grass tickling the bottom of my cut bare feet. No more darkness. No more hunger. No more....

I personally really like doing these free writing tasks as there is no limit and I don't over think what I'm writing about. 

We then all said something that got in our way today. Out of the ones we said we had to pick one and make it a problem that our character had to face. Here is what I written as a synopsis:

Bell really wants to become a model but she has too many thoughts inside her head. This stops her from trying to get the job. She overthinks and makes herself believe that she is not good enough and that she'll only make a fool out of herself. She ends up trying to get rid of these thoughts with what she thinks is the only solution. Going to the gym, under eating. This then goes on for too long and she becomes very unwell to the point that she ends up in hospital. 

Liz the person who came in started asking us questions really fast again. This then helped us make a character up. She showed us a diagram that helps her with writing a  script. Here is what I came up with:

In the theatre today we did auditions. We got a message from our teacher Kelly on teams last night that we can pick any part of the script to audition with. I decided that I only wanted to focus on Ivy. I learnt my lines and practised with my friend who is auditioning as Olive. Olive is very self absorbed and selfish. You can see that in the script. Ivy is quite similar to Olive but she doesn't show it as much. I did my audition twice as I had to be Ivy for two people who are going for Olive. I made her quite polite compared to Olive. I overall think that I did quite well. Kelly then gave us some feedback and said that Olive should be a bit more angry. She then also said that Ivy is similar and also a little arrogant so I up'd it and made her seem more self absorbed rather than innocent. I personally believe that I did pretty well. I wont be upset if I don't get her because I like all the characters in the show. After lunch we talked about our dear Even Hansen assignment and then we went to the room 224 and finished my UCAS application. I just have my personal statement left to do. 

13/10/2022

We began reading the scripts for the Wizard Of Oz. We only read up to page 30. In those few pages Dorothy had met, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion. They are all making there way to the Emerald City to ask the Wizard of Oz for what they desire. Dorothy's is to get back home. The Scarecrow is to have a brain. Tin Man's is to have a heart and the lion to become brave. One thing that I'm not a massive fan of about the script is that were not allowed any music with it what so ever. But were allowed make our own music for it. Luckily we have Tom who is really good with that sort of stuff.
