Week Thirty

 16/05/2022

We carried on with rehearsals today. There were no scenes which I needed to be in, so me and the other ensembles went into the film studio and began talking about costumes. We first sorted out who can be who depending on what 'main roles' we got. e.g. I got kid three meaning I wouldn't be able to be in the first scene as an ensemble as I wouldn't have enough time to change from costume to costume. I feel as if we did a good job today as we figured out what can and cant be done. Although some people didn't co-operate due to not having the energy, but me and the others who tried did well. Afterwords we went back to the dance studio and watched some rehearsals so that we know what was going on. Everyone is doing so well, and taking everything seriously!

Today I worked on learning my lines. I haven't had much time to learn my lines at home because I have been at work a lot, which is quite stressful, and my home environment is also stressful with  my little brothers. Today was super handy, as it allowed me to learn all my lines in blood brothers, all my lines for the Beatles show case and all my lines for the blood brothers show case. Now that I have learnt my lines I can study them to get a better understanding of whats happening. It will also help me acting wise as I wont have to look at the script but instead focus on my emotions and movement. After the lesson ended today I did my first rehearsals for the blood brothers willy Russell show case. I got the role of Linda which is amazing and I'm super great full for! This scene is the same scene I did for my audition to get Linda (The pill scene). I love this scene so much and I'm so glad that I get to present it to the audience. Since I already know my lines for this, I had one less thing to stress about as I could focus on my actions and emotions. The person who got Mickey didn't know their lines so it was a little more difficult to get in the moment, but they'll easily learn them! Even though the Mickey didn't know their lines I already felt as if it had gone well! I felt like our emotions where presented well. One thing I would like to improve on for our next rehearsals would be to show a little more of a connection. Mickey and Linda are married at this point so they are in love. A way I can show that is by being more 'touchy', in the least weirdest way. I was already garbing his hand etc, but I think I can do a little more such as trying to get his attention my holding his shoulder etc.

Today people began rehearsing again. The person who is meant to lead the ensembles wasn't in, so I gathered up everyone and asked them if they wanted to go into the film studio to do some work and make mind maps for each scene. Only a few came but at least we got some work done. Here is what we did:

After lunch I went out with the people producing stags and hens for the willy Russell shoe case and the actors in it (I got Carol). We began rehearsing through it a little more. One actor hasn't gone through it before so we read through it with her first, but by the time we finished we head to go back as the head of the acting department wanted to help us with a singing scene, Marilyn Monroe. He had helped us with the choreography and also helped put us into to tones. Its hard to explain but we made it that we walk into a triangle shape at different times of the song.
