Week Twenty-Eight- 2nd Blood Brothers audition

 03/05/2022

Today we were preparing for our call backs tomorrow. These call backs are going to help our teachers decide who has the best chemistry, as these call backs will be done with the another person who is auditioning for a character who is close to the character we are auditioning for. We were given a few scripts that we have to learn for these call backs. I have three to do for Linda. The same pill scene with Mickey that I did for my first audition, then a scene with Eddie, where they are teenagers and Eddie reveals that he is leaving for University and lastly the kid scene with Mickey, Eddie and Linda all together. These scenes vary in age It starts with them being 7, then to 18 and then to 25. This will have to show the difference in energy and maturity. Today I quickly learnt my lines for the Eddie scene at college and I already know my lines for the Pill scene so then I learnt my lines for the kid scene at home. Today we were also told that for our auditions tomorrow we will be doing them in front of everyone, this was so that we can see why the cast lists turns out the way it does. We were also given a feedback sheet from our first audition. Mine said something along the lines of, "I always make my character likeable, but I could push it more by making the child version more silly and the adult version more like shes "carrying a lot of weight on her shoulders", So I'm going to ensure I add them in to my rehearsals. I also have two other auditions for tomorrow, one for a film and another for the Willy Russel showcase, which is being produced by the second years. Today was a bit overwhelming because of how much I have to do for tomorrow, but it also taught me how much harder real life as an actress is going to be.

It's the last audition day! today was super scary, mostly because this audition means so much to me because of how much I want the role of Linda. Out of all the auditions I've done this ones the most important as the character of Linda is perfect to help improve and stretch my ability as an actress. Also because of how much I love the character, and all the scenes she is in. We had the first hour rehearsing with all of our partners. I rehearsed with my Mickey and Eddie first for the kid scene (Henry and Ethan), I then practised my Eddie scene (Ethan) and then my Mickey scene (Henry). I just went over them a few times until it was time to start the auditions. Let me just start off with how amazing everyone was, I'm so lucky to be in a class with such talented people. Honestly it kinda feels like I'm in a room with already famous actors and actresses. The first audition I did was the kid scene. I was so nervous that I ended up forgetting a line, which was honestly sooo embarrassing and at the end of it I felt like I was gonna cry, but I didn't as that would have been even more embarrassing. I think that if we forget that fact I forgot a line I overall did alright. I think that my accent was pretty good and that I used the same characteristics as a 7 year old. I also put my hair in pig-tails to help capture that haha. Something I would slightly improve on was to be slightly more energetic and to be a little more "flirty" with Mickey even though she's only 7 she is already obsessed with him. The next one was the Eddie scene. This scene was, the one I was a little worried about as she's quite flirty at the beginning. The reason I was nervous is a little silly but I'm 4'10ft, so very short, and i was paired up with an Eddie who is around 6ft, so I just think it looked quite silly haha, but I still did it of course and I tried my best to not make it look strange. Something I would improve on was probably the first dialogue where she is being flirty as I wasn't sure what movement to do. I walked up from behind but I think I could have done a little more. After that was the Pill scene with Mickey. I have already done this for my first audition, and I have already said how I didn't think it had gone well. I felt like today was gonna go much better as I actually had someone to talk too and in a way share my emotions with. I believe I was right. I may be the only one to think I did way better but my emotions just seemed so much stronger, and I just felt so much more connected to the moment. Something I wish I had for this audition was a bag. I just think that It would have helped to fill it out a bit more, as a bag is mentioned in the dialogue. After that i felt happier with myself but, everyone was so good that I didn't feel confident and ever since last Thursday I had a massive feeling that I wasn't going to get the role. Afterwards I did my audition for a film. It had gone alright, I'm not a big fan of the character and the dialogue so I just didn't feel like it felt natural.  After that I then had an audition for the Willy Russel showcase. I think that, it went well. I really hope I at least get this role (Carol in Stags and Hens), as it will be super fun.

Today is the big day!, were finding out what roles we got for Blood Brothers! As soon as I got in we were told that we were put into three casts, This made me feel like hmmmm do I have a chance? I didn't haha. I sadly didn't get the role of Linda but three amazing other people did including my best friend, whom I'm so proud of! I know how amazing the show is going to be because of how amazing the actors and actresses are. I'm absolutely devastated that I didn't get the role but at the end of the day what's meant to be is what's meant to be. Everyone worked so hard for the role they wanted so it was well deserved. My three best friends also all got the roles they wanted which makes me so happy for them! obviously it also makes me very sad that I'm the only one, but gosh I'm so happy for them! I got the role as kid three for all casts and a police woman in cast 2. After everyone took it in we went on and began working on a part of Blood Brothers called "Kids Game". This is in the musical version of Blood Brothers so we are not allowed to play it but we are going to do it in the Willy Russel show-case, which is super fun! It was super tiring doing this as we have to run around like 7 year old's playing a game and kind of singing. I can't sing for my life so it was quite funny. We did a little bit of choreography as well.

Today I made a self tape as I auditioned for one of the end of year films. I really want to become an actress for TV and screen, but I haven't done any film yet, so I had to get into at least one before I finish this year. There were two that I was really interested in, but sadly I have been so busy with trying to get the role of Linda and also working for my part time job that I didn't get the chance to make a self tape in time for one of them. Luckily the other one I was interested in still had one day left. As soon as I got back from work I sat down, learnt my lines, set up the ring light and camera, and created it. The film I have auditioned for is created by a first year in the film and TV course called Sophie, I think that shes amazing at what she does! Her film is about two sisters. One is meant to be dead (Eden), but then suddenly she meets up with her sister Amelia (The main character) Eden tells Amelia that their parents are dangerous and that she needs to get away. Amelia doesn't believe her so she goes to her parents and tells them everything. The parents don't like how much information she knows so they end up killing her. They killed her since they are a part of some cult, and that they are not really her real parents. I only described it briefly but, it's much better than I described! I asked to audition for Amelia, but Sophie couldn't find the audition script so I got given Edens. So this self tape is me acting out as Eden but trying to get the role of Amelia:

PS I got the role of Amelia!!!!
