Week Twenty-one

Its the first week back after the half term and weve been cracking on with rehearsals straight away. We went through nearly the whole show. Today's rehearsals were already so improved and flowy. I believe that this is because nearly everyone has learnt all their lines. From learning their lines its allowed them to focus more on their character and the actions they need to do. Its also allowed them to create more of a reaction. I have learnt all my lines but its been really hard to learn my que lines. I spoke to some other people and they completely agree with me and said that these ques are very difficult to learn. Tonight I'm going to make sure I've got them down. Once I've 100% learnt them I can then go on to putting more effort in my actual acting instead of concentrating more on when I need to say my lines. Learning our que lines is something everyone needs to improve on. In today's lesson I learnt about: listening and reacting, focus and being in the moment.

Today We went through the whole show again. I didn't use my script today apart from when I had to read in for someone else. It definitely helped with my performance as I got to concentrate on my movement and what I should do with my body and facial expressions. Today's rehearsals was very similar to yesterdays. A tad bit more improved as more people have learnt their ques. After today's rehearsals our teacher gave everyone some feedback. The feedback I got for me and my yoga group was that we need to walk on stage with a bigger character. I knew that I kind off messed that part up today as I was concentrated on reading my friends lines out while also saying mine right after. The next time I walk in, I'm going to make sure the character is bigger and has more of an impact to the audience. Some other feedback that was given was the staging. A lot of the time people are blocking each other, but since people have only now gone off script they can actually concentrate on staging. In today's lesson we learnt: Listening and reacting and also being focus and in the moment

We were really lucky today and got to rehearse in the THEATRE!! Being in the theatre means that we had a lot more space to rehearse, which overall made it a lot easier. Today's rehearsal was definitively the best we have done. Everyone have learnt, you could say all their lines. Some people got a bit stuck on que's which is a bit worrying since next week, we will be preforming it. Peoples acting was a lot better and you could tell that they have adapted their character a bit more. We went through the whole show twice. The first time we stopped in between trying to fix some things to make it look better. One of the times we got stopped was because my teacher noticed that some people are saying their lines without knowing why they were saying it. And to be completely honest that was me with some lines, such as "Tarmac and ion". My teacher noticed that I didn't know why I was saying it and said that the those lines are describing the park. I'm a yoga person and a meditation-est who cares about the world. So when I say these lines I need to say them as if I'm sad and concerned about the environment. When we restarted I could tell that it sounded better. Before we started rehearsing today, me and my yoga group sat down. We discussed whether we are speaking to the audience or to each other when we say our lines. We figured out which lines will be said to each other and which lines are said to the audience. After we went through the show the first time we went through it again without stopping. We had to do it in front of the head of acting. Afterwords he gave us a lot of things that we need to improve on. The one focused on me and my group was that we need to find some more yoga moves and posses because we repeat the same thing too much. I completely agree with this. If we find more things to do it will look more entertaining. He also praised us for being some of the only ones who knew our lines and que lines. The most thing he was telling us was that we shouldn't have any scripts by now. Only a few people have scripts. Mainly the main characters for the end. He also said that people need to have a faster reaction for ques. There shouldn't be a long wait, as he said it gets really boring. The biggest change for when I next rehears is that I know why I'm saying my lines so I can add more depth to each sentence I say. Today we learnt: Listening and reacting, focus and being in the moment, moving with purpose and preforming to an audience
