Week Sixteen- Charlie and the chocolate factory show week
17/01/2022
Its finally show week! Its our last day of full rehearsals before cast one preforms tomorrow. I'm Charlie tomorrow so I'm sooo nervous. Unluckily I get quite bad stage fright where I begin to shake a lot and start to feel unwell, but playing as one of the main roles its definitively helped me gain some confidence. I also know that as soon as I've gotten on the stage and preformed I will feel so happy and proud of myself for doing my best. Back to what we did today- The first thing that we did was rehears through the whole show with the tec. We had to stop a few times so that the people who are going to do the tec and lights know exactly where to do it and when to do it. There were two scenes that we couldn't rehearse today which were the elevator scene and the Mike Teavee scenes as we didn't have the actor for it. I personally think that the rehearsals had went great today, so I believe that tomorrow will be even better! One thing we all need to improve on is our projection. This means that we all need to get louder so that the audience can fully hear everything. I'm definitely trying to improve this the most but its quite hard at times as Charlie is a very quite and timid character, so when I'm acting as him my voice naturally goes lower but at the end of the day it definitely improved. Some people at the end of the day had recorded the chants for the Oompa Loompas as it would be to hard for the leaders to sing and dance at the same time. Today we had also confirmed that that actor of cast one Mike Teavee wont be in to do the show. This means that the actor of cast two Mike Teavee will be doing all shows. We had also found out that the actor of cast two Violet wont be doing the show either so the actor of cast one Violet will be doing all shows. This means that we needed someone to do purple Violet. The actress for Mrs Beauregard cast two will be preforming as her in the cast one shows. An amazing person from the film and TV course also said that shed be her for both shows on Wednesday.18/01/2022
Its show day number one! The first thing we did today was go through the whole show without stopping. We had all the props and tec on. One new thing that was added in was a pyro tec. This was added in for when Augustus Gloop gets sucked into the pipe and when Mike Teavee disappears. I absolutely love how it turned out! it definitely gives it a more dramatic feel. After going through the whole show we began getting our makeup done. It took a while as there were a lot of Oompa Loompas that needed to get done. But all the makeup artists did such an amazing job, and I'm so proud and thankful for them!. Whilst waiting for the audience to come in people did their own thing. I personally went over my lines a couple of times making sure that I wont freeze and forget them on stage I also made sure that I know where all my props are. e.g the Golden ticket and the newspapers. After making sure and knowing that I have everything set and ready, we waited a little until it was soon show time. When the audience started coming in we all got into position ready to go. We were all very nervous but excited because we have all worked really hard on this. We began the show too a good start and it ended even better. It was energetic and everyone tried there best. In the scenes were it was funny the audience laughed and in the scenes where it was scary/ surprising the audience gasped, it was great! At the end of the show the audience congratulated us and it was great, although I didn't have anyone to come and see me, a few people came up to me to day how well I did which was amazing! someone who came to check out the course came to watch it and said, "I cant believe that I'll be doing this in September", which made my day because it made me feel like me and my team had made it look that good and fun that someone really want to join. My favourite scene is the boats scene after the interval, because its kind off spooky, but it also has a lot of work put into it such as the lighting, boat and smoke from the smoke machine! it all looks so good together! One thing we definitely need to improve on is our projection, some of the audience said that they couldn't fully hear some parts, which is a shame. I know that the scene I need to improve my projection is in scene 2 (The Bucket scene when I'm on the bed). I got told that they could understand what I was saying, but it could have just gone up a little. At the end of the day we were all super proud of our self's and that we cant wait for the shows tomorrow!

enough. Since we also had to take of the props we ran late and nearly missed our Verruca dance. We ran on and made it seem like it was supposed to happen, thankfully the audience suspected nothing. After the show we git a lot of feedback from our teacher which we REALLY needed. The things that we needed to improve on were: projection, energy, props, lowered down energy for the Oompa Loompa's (As an Oompa Loompa we were to energetic and involved with the visitors where we were meant to be kind of weary of them). We took all the feedback in and began preforming the second show. Lets just say it looked like a completely different show! It was energetic, loud and had the audience reacting in the best way possible. My teacher has said, "You took the notes given this afternoon and every single one of you acted on them 100%". We have one more show tomorrow at 7pm, cast one again. I cant wait to preform as Charlie again (Lets just say being and Oompa Loompa was an experience I don't want to do again :) )

Its our last show day for Charlie and the Chocolate factory :( I'm so sad that we'll never be doing it again and that its ending, but I'm so glad to have been on this journey with everyone. Today we got a little bit of a lie in, as we are prepared for this show and know exactly what we need to do. When we went in, we began rehearsing. We went through all the scenes excepts from the two bucket scenes as we would have had to get the bed out. This was fine with me as I knew exactly what I need to do in them both. We also didn't go through the Mike Teavee scenes as our actor for him had to come in a little later. After going through it we went into makeup. After getting our makeup done we had a lot of time to spare since we had already preformed the show three times we didn't need to stress out about it and continuously go through it, so what we did was just ensure that all the props are in the right place. After making sure that everything was in the right place everyone did their own thing. Me and my friends decided to play a little game to warm our selves up and ensure that we are energised. After playing the game it was soon show time. The audience began coming in. It was nearly full! We got into position and began the show. It went off to a brilliant start, I got all my lines down and everyone was super energetic and had each reaction on point. We were about 2 mins away from the interval and then.... the fire alarm had went off. The actor of Willy Wonka had saved the scene and everyone had excited the stage in character. It was handled in the best way possible. It was really stressful and I thought that it was going to throw me off completely, but afterwards when the fire alarm had turned off and the audience got back into there seats, we began preforming again as if nothing had happened. If anything it made us stronger. We had ended the show in the best way possible. Everyone's reaction was on point, our projection was a lot better (I was told by someone in the audience that they could hear everything) and it was super energetic and fun. I cant wait for the next show to begin!
