Week Twelve

 29/11/2021

Today in class we began rehearsing scene 1, 2 and 3. Charlie Bucket is in all of these scenes. Scene one is when the Narrators are introducing the 4 golden ticket winners, Veruca, Violet, Augustus and Mike. Scene two is when the narrators introduce The Bucket family, and scene three is when Charlie finds the fifth golden ticket. In scene one today I improved it as I showed more of a connection to Mr Bucket. Scene 2 and 3 were both new to me, so I have a lot more things to improve on such as, speaking more clearly and without stopping. This will get a lot better once I have learnt all my lines. I also need to add more movement and facial expressions. This will once again improve when I go off script, as ill be able to concentrate more on what going around me rather than the paper. My goal is to become off script for scene 3 so that I can achieve the things listed above. I have already learnt my lines for scene 2 so I think that I've done pretty good for my first try. I just need to be more confident and tell myself that I 100% do know my lines so that I can stop checking my script.

Today we were working on the German Umpa Lumpas for Augustus Gloop. We got in groups and began working on the song/chant that they have to sing. We linked it up with the music that we are going to pair it up with. We came up with a beat and how we are going to say it. We also came up with a dance for them. It consists of, clapping, kicking and working in pairs.

Today we worked on scene 2,3 and 4. Scene 2 I thought had went really well as I'm now confident and know all of my lines. i still just need to work on some facial expressions. Scene three still needs some work on my movement but I need to learn all of my lines first. I've learnt most of them but I have just a little more then I can try to perfect everything else. Scene four was new. In this scene I have a massive paragraph, where I'm reading whats on the golden ticket. In this scene I also meet all the golden ticket winners and Mr Willy Wonka. I've learnt some lines for this scene but the main thing that I need to do to improve is to learn the large paragraph. Next time we rehearse this scene I want to have learnt a little part of my paragraph.

Today we were put into groups for the the Umpa Lumpas. I got put into the group for the Violet Umpa Lumpas. We as a group had to come up with a dance. For violet we are doing cheer leading so we had to come up with a pom dance. This includes small jumps and a lot of hand movements. It was a little hard as we had to come up with something that we all agreed with and something that we can all do easily. At the end we came up with a short dance but we have to add more on so that it ends with the chant.
