Week Eight

01/11/2021

It's our first day back! Today we didn't do too much, we mostly talked about our show and what things are coming up for us. We talked about things that we thought went well, could have done better, our favourite part, what we will mostly remember and a self target for the next show.

What I went well: Our good communication, adapting to our characters, getting a full house, and Harley's outstanding performance 

Could have went better: Rehearsed mostly just act 1, talking behind the curtains

Our favourite part/ most thing I will remember: All the funny memories in the ballroom and restaurant scene, all the strong friendships made, how it was all put together, all the funny memories

Self target for the next show: Audition for a bigger role

Today we had a read through the script for the national theatre connections. I'm personally not a big fan of it but it was fun to go through it as a group. The play is about a young girl called Antler who climbed a tree and is silently protesting because she is fed up off life and all the horrible things that's going on around the world. There are other characters introduced such as: Desk, crystal, oil, finn, boil and skin. Between the dialogue there is a lot narrations/ thoughts off what Antler is thinking. We also got to record our 'Jack and the bean stalk' audio scripts. I really loved it. It was fun and it was something that I have never done before. I used to want to be a voice actor but I don't think i would have much confidence to do a ton of strange voices. This was definitively a start tho! We have a few pages left to record which we will do next Tuesday.

Today we Did a little improvisation for Charlie and the chocolate factory. We started of with doing freeze frames. First me, Sienna, Kadie and Brooke decided to do the scene where Verruca gets pulled down by the squirrels so I laid down on the floor and the others grabbed my arms and legs pretending to be squirrels. We then joint groups with Emie, Justin, Tamara, Aaron and Jokes and we did the boat scene. Then the whole class joint and we decided to do the gate scene and it was really good because of everyone amazing expressions.

Hello, today we got given a new project. Where we will be filming a Christmas John Lewis advert. So we got into groups and began thinking of ideas for what it could be about. I came up with an idea where Strangers passes a note which says something like "You are beautiful keep going!" to another stranger, and then that strangers passes it to another stranger and it keeps going for a while until it comes towards the end when the last person turns the little note over and it says John Lewis on it. Emie came up with another amazing idea where there is this man is saving up money to buy his girlfriends a Christmas present but his jar is still really empty, until its Christmas night and it still super empty so it overlaps him writing loads of little love notes and putting them into the jar and giving it to his girlfriend on Christmas and her being super happy.
