Week Six- Rehearsals

11/10/2021

In today's lesson cast one rehearsed through the whole play. This was really helpful as we got to see what parts go where and how they match up.  I'm a tree house witch in cast one, so I got to practise being her a little more. Kelly gave me feedback, saying that I need to slow it down so that it matches up with the music. I think that it would look a lot better slowed down as well, as this moment should be intense since its the first time 'Boy' encounters a witch.

In today's lesson cast two rehearsed through the whole play. I think that the first run through wasn't the best. After a few tips we went through the ballroom scene and it was a lot better. We decided that some lines should be said separate and not together, as it makes it seem less rehearsed. i was really disappointed at myself as I messed up my lines, even though I know them. I always get really anxious when I preform my part for the kitchen scene as its really out of my comfort zone. I know that no one is going to judge me, and that everyone in the course is lovey but i still get really nervous. Overall I just thunk that i need to keep practising so that I get less anxious and allow myself to preform better.

Hello! Today we tried on some of our costumes for our characters. I had worn my outfit for the tree house witch. I wore a black dress, black tights, a black blazer and black slide on shoes. I want my character to look professional.  Today we also got to talk to David who acts in the South, West of England. He told us many things that can happen on stage and that if we do a mistake the audience will most likely not realise. He also talked to us about rehearsals and how they are something we should cherish and love in the moment. He helped me feel less anxious to preform.

In today's lesson me and my group filmed the copycat scene. I personally think that me friends did amazing and took on the characteristics of the character so well. One thing I wish had had practised more was my American accent. When I was doing my scene I messed up a bit as it sounded like I was rapping since i'm not very good at the accent. But that's now something to work on for other projects.
