Week Seven- 'The Witches' show week

Hello!, today we got to go in the theatre and rehearse. We mostly worked on the lighting and where all the props are going to go and how/where they are going to be placed during the show. We all worked on the music. It was a pretty relaxed day overall. We had also set up the pyro's for the scenes where the witches, Bruno/Bee and Boy die. I overall thought that it looked really cool and it will definitely add a dramatic affect. We had also put on our costumes and rehearsed through the ballroom scene for both casts. I overall really liked working in the theatre as it made it feel like a better atmosphere. the theatre also has a lot more space to work in which made it a lot easier.

Today we did almost the same things as yesterday. Were working on the on the main scenes in the show which are the ballroom scene and the restaurant scene. whilst rehearsing those scenes we have now added the music and lighting which makes it look 10x better overall. Cast one was able to rehearse through the whole play as tomorrows show is cast ones. cast two rehearse through the whole of act one and then we went through the restaurant scene as we didn't have enough time.  This allowed me to practise my part for the second chef. i think that it had went better than usual, even though we had a prop which we had never used before. me and my partner just need to practice more with the props so that we can get familiar with it and preform well with it. We started working with new props from yesterday and the props really help to bring the scene to life.

Its show day!, Today cast one preformed the show. We started off with preparing all the props and making sure that we have them all in the right place. We then began to get out makeup done. At 11:45 AM me and the rest of the witches got our hair sorted and ready to have a bold cap put on top. After that we did some warm up games so that we can get ready. We decided to go in the dance studio and go through the scene where Boy had been found and turned into a mouse so that we co-ordinate it well and make sure that its safe. Afterwords at 3 PM me and the rest of the witches got our bold caps put onto our heads. At 4 PM we got our makeup put on. I overall loved the whole experience of transforming into my character. After everyone got their makeup done we gathered up and rehearsed through the whole of act one. This allowed me to practice my role of the tree house witch and the extra witch. For some reason I was really nervous to preform the tree house witch when I don't usually as i'm pretty confident with her. I think that I was nervous because I know that its show night. Whilst rehearsing the film and TV crew recorded it. After that It was soon show time! so we got everything ready until it was time to preform. My tree house witch scene is near the beginning of the show and there is only me and Boy on the stage so i was REALLY nervous as I know that all the attention will be on only us. I felt like I was going to throw up or pass out. Eventually it got to my scene so I got up and went. When I had preformed my scene I felt soooooo happy and realised that its really fun to be up there. I personally think that It was my best performance. A friend said that I had given him goose bumps by the way I had done my accent and my little chuckle at the end whilst walking of the stage. After I had to preform as the extra witch in the ballroom and restaurant scene. I wasn't nervous for this character mostly because I have my friends right next to me, but I definitely had an Adrenalin running through me. When the show was over we all did our bows and it was so amazing because I could just see everyone clapping and cheering. Everyone did so amazing and i'm so proud of everyone! I'm really excited for tomorrows show! I forgot to mention that it was completely sold out, which made us so much more happier :)

Its show day number two! Today we went through a similar process as yesterday. We had got all the props ready making sure that we have them all and that they are put in the correct space. In the morning we rehearsed through the whole of act one, which went well. After lunch I had got my makeup done for the second chef. It was very different from the witch as It was a lot lighter makeup and a quicker process, and all they did for the hair was put it up and a low sleek ponytail. I also enjoyed this process as the makeup artists are all so lovely! After everyone got there makeup done we Went through the ballroom scene and the restaurant scene. I was nervous to do my chef scene but not as nervous as usual as I know that I have nothing to worry about, after yesterdays performance. After Me and Morgan (Head chef) did our scene we were so happy because it was the best we had done it. This made us a little less nervous for when we have to do it in front of everyone. When the show began everyone was nervous but excited. I wasn't on the stage until the restaurant scene so I was just bringing some of the props on and off, of the stage and encouraging people from behind the curtains. When it was the restaurant scene I could feel my heart begin to race as I knew that I had to go up soon. When I went up I preformed my scene as usual and tried my best. When we got off I was really happy with how it went. When the show was over me and my friends where kind of sad as It was our last time to ever preform the witches. But we were overall really happy as it went well! I'm really great full towards the makeup/film & TV and art and design students for helping us bring the show to life!
