Week Three

Hello!, today is audition day for the witches. I had learnt my lines and practised in my room for the past couple of days making sure i was prepared for today. Although I practised I was so nervous and shaky. As I was waiting for it to be my turn I ran over my lines and practised for my turn. When I went in for my audition I was still really nervous but not as much as I thought. I thought that I did okay for my first audition. After I had preformed my part Kelly and Kane suggested that I should try to audition for the role of boy as I would look good, but also because i'm a really good actress, and that made me so happy!. After everyone had finished auditioning i had went back and ready out load 'boys' lines.

Today we learnt about audio and how important it is. The audio allows us as the audience to understand the situation and what is happening.  The things in audio that allow us to identify the changes are: Tone, frequency, accent, speed and pitch. We watched a scene from 'Ladybug' without seeing it, just listening to the audio. I could tell when they began to argue as it started with a slow paste, calm voices, laughter, time taken to replay so that they give a good answer and soft voices, but then their voices got louder, raised voices, quick responses, higher tone and talking over each other. We also watched another scene from a film called 'Taken'. In this scene I could tell that the dad was scared but kept his voice calm. You can tell this as he was quick to answer, lowered pitch, a clear voice, but towards the end you could tell he was angry as his voice got deeper and tougher. The daughter was terrified  as she had an unclear voice, stuttering, trembled voice, deep/ heavy breaths, shouting and a high pitched voice. After watching both and analysing them we got into groups of six and got given a 'Jack and the bean-stock' script. Next week we will be filming it and then listening to the audio to see if we can tell whats happening. At the end of the day I stayed behind to audition for the grandmother in 'The witches' as I had gotten a text last night saying they needed a few more options for her. I had learnt all my lines and practised until i felt as if I did a good job. During my audition I had forgotten nearly all my lines. I was so upset and mad at myself, but at the end of the day I would be happy if I got a role of an extra witch.

Today me and my classmates got to play a new improvisation warm up game where there has to be one person standing, the other sitting on a chair and the last sitting down on the floor. Whoever was in the middle would have to change with each other. For example the person who is standing would need to make up a situation/ story to sit on the chair/ floor. The game would end when everyone has gone in the middle. After this we got to pick a vocal warm-up. Me and my group picked, 'Adding sounds'. We had a break and the 2nd years came in. When the break ended, we found out what role we got for 'The witches'. I was so happy because I got two roles for cast two, being: The tree house witch and the second chef. Although I didn't get neither of the roles I auditioned for I was still incredibly great-full and happy because its my first play. After we all settled down all the groups showed our vocal warm-ups to the 2nd years.

In today's lesson we were working on our copycat scene. I learnt a lot of Trivia about Twilight but also about the directors ect. We also found a biology room that we can film our scene in. Next lesson we will be working on our cloths, accents and make-up but also learning our lines.
