Week one

Today in class I learnt the importance of body language and facial expressions. These both have a great impact in acting. Without the use of these, the character is incomplete and somewhat emotionless. Both body language and facial expressions allows the audience to understand the situation more clearly. I was shown a muted video of Emma Stone acting out an argument in a movie called "La La Land", and I was able to identify the 3 stages of where the tone began to change. This was because of her amazing talent in expressing the character's body language and facial expressions. I was also shown a muted video of Leonardo DiCaprio in a movie called "The wolf of wall street", I was quick to realise that he was giving an inspirational speech to his employees. I realised this as he used a lot of hand movement, such as raising his fist in the air which caused the crowd to look excited. He also used a lot of eye contact, and talked to people separately to show that he acknowledges everyone. You could also see that he was talking with passion with his mouth movement. For the next week me and my classmates are going to be making a short dialogue. We will be practising our facial expressions and body language. Towards the end of the week we will be filming our short act. It will then be muted and then observed by the teacher. By our facial expressions and body language the story line should be guessed and easy to understand.

Today me and my classmates got to meet the film and TV crew. We got the time too talk and get to know one another. After that our teacher told us that we will be making a short copycat scene of a film of our choice. So we got into groups then  picked a film then a scene. My group is: Sienna and Jason from my class then Casey from the film and TV crew. We chose to do Twilight, and the scene we chose to do was the biology-class. It was hard to pick who's going to play the roles as there are two girls in the group but only one in the scene, so we chose to turn 'Eric' into a girl who's now 'Erica'. The roles are going to be played as: 

Sienna-Bella

Jason-Edward

Me-Erica

In the next lesson we have together we will be able to find out what to do next.
